Agent Smith Syndrome
Matrix analogies have certainly approached critical levels of potential overuse, but when something is true, it's true. In the movie 'The Matrix' a group of individuals who have already awoken to the true nature of their reality and returned to the universal simulation the vast amount of humanity engages in, they are subject to certain dangers in that simulation. One of these dangers being, that any person who is still "plugged in" has the potential, at any moment, to turn into Agent Smith. For those unfamiliar with the movie, and for the purposes of this post, I will oversimplify Agent Smith as a defense mechanism for the simulation.
